Macaroni and Cheese (stovetop)

Make a white sauce with:

   - 3 Tbs butter

   - 3 Tbs flour

   - 1 1/2 cups water or milk


Add:

   - 1 1/2 lbs macaroni

   - 1 tsp salt

   - 1/2 tsp garlic powder

   - 1/2 tsp onion powder

   - 1/2 tsp paprika

   - 1/4 tsp pepper

   - enough water or milk to cover the macaroni


Heat to a low boil and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes, stirring often.

Add more water or milk as needed.


Turn off heat and add a handful at a time:

   - 16 ounces cheese, shredded

5 qt pot

metal spoon

macaroni: elbows, shells, bowties, or other small shape

cheese: cheddar, jack, colby, or similar
