White Sauce

Melt in pot/pan:

   - 2 parts butter


Add all at once and cook for about 1 minute, stirring continually:

   - 2 parts flour

   - desired seasonings


Continue stirring and slowly add:

   - 1 part water/milk/broth


Bring to a boil and cook for another minute or two until thickened.

Notes

5 qt when sauce is a base

2 qt when sauce will stand alone

common seasonings: salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, chicken soup base, celery salt

increase or decrease liquid for desired consistency

if adding cheese, add by handfuls after turning off heat
